Moriya, Japan Student Program

Did you know the City of Greeley and Moriya, Japan, have been celebrating and fostering a Sister City relationship for more than 20 years? Every odd year summer the City of Greeley sponsors approximately ten high school students to visit Moriya, Japan, as part of a student exchange. During even years, Greeley students host Moriya students.

The Sister City Student Exchange Program is a wonderful opportunity for students from both cities to explore each other's country and learn more about their cultures, traditions, and way of life.

Cultural Exchanges Temporarily Suspended

Due to the COVID-19 international travel restrictions, both cities have agreed to suspend visits by students in 2020-2022. Program organizers are actively working together to define possibilities of virtual reunions or exchanges. As efforts are developed, announcements and information will be updated here.

Moriya celebrates 20th Anniversary of City Status

On February 2, 2022 Moriya celebrated its 20th anniversary of becoming a city, a major growth milestone in the Japanese government structure. Please join us in congratulating our friends in Moriya on social media:
