City of Greeley Transit Services Vision Statement To enhance the quality of life by providing safe, reliable public transit and commuter choices while expanding accessibility and mobility, based on community support.
Travel Training
Personal mobility, the ability to get from point A to point B, is usually taken for granted—we simply choose
to start our car and drive to our destination—and it is rare that we think of those that do not have this choice. Many citizens that are in this “non or limited-mobile life condition” are senior in age, or have a disability that limits them from accessing our bus system. To assist seniors and people with disabilities who are interested in using our bus system but aren’t quite sure how to, Greeley-Evans Transit (GET) will be providing free classes in Travel Training.
Travel Training is designed to teach seniors and people with disabilities how to travel safely and independently on a public transit system. Travel Training will focus on the Fixed Route bus system, and teach the skills needed to navigate around the community with confidence and ease. A Travel Trainer will help participants experience and understand public transportation.
The goal of Travel Training in the Greeley-Evans area is to teach people the skills they need to travel independently, with confidence and on their own timeframe.
