Preserving and Interpreting Local History
The four distinct museums operated by the City of Greeley help residents and tourists alike explore the fascinating history of Greeley, Weld County and Colorado's High Plains. Through our facilities, special events, programs, exhibits, tours and summer camps we bring history alive for thousands of people each year. Learn more by reading the Greeley Historical Timeline webpage.
The Greeley History Museum is open year-round--FREE. Galleries, museum store and Hazel E. Johnson Research Center hours are 8:30-4:30 Wednesday-Friday; 10-4 Saturday. Phone: 970-350-9220. The other three museums are open seasonally.
NOTE: Due to the current economic downturn and budget cuts, effective now through December 31, 2010, the Greeley Museums will not be accepting artifacts (objects, photos, books, documents, etc.) for donation. We are very grateful to the public for the wonderful historic items that have been given to us over the years, and we hope that you will bear with us during this time. An announcement will be made at the end of this year regarding when we will be able to accept new donations.
