Disability and Civil Rights

The City of Greeley, Colorado (“the City”) is committed to assuring full compliance, and is prohibited by law from violating all civil rights provisions of federal statutes and related authorities that prohibit discrimination in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. These laws include but are not limited to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (“Title VI”), the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 (P.L. 100.259), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act (the “Fair Housing Act”), and the Age Discrimination Act of 1972. The City does not, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, creed, religion, sex, disability, age or sexual orientation, discriminate against persons in the provisions of its programs, services or activities.

Furthermore, Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the City of Greeley (City) does not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, age or gender. The City is committed to providing an equal opportunity for citizens to participate in and enjoy the programs, services, and facilities of the City. The City will make reasonable accommodations for citizens in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The City provides language access services at no charge to persons who have limited ability to read, write or speak English and wish to utilize services, programs or activities offered by the City. These services include interpreters and translation of documents or portions of documents.

Complaints

If any person believes they have been discriminated against in violation of these laws has a right to file a formal complaint with the City of Greeley. Any such complaint must be in writing or provided verbally so that it can be put in writing and filed with the City’s ADA and Title VI Coordinator within one hundred and eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged discriminatory act or decision.
