Even with Mrs. Claus and all those elves, the chubby guy himself couldn't have created a better winter wonderland than Greeley's Festival of Trees. This annual week-long extravaganza of exquisitely decorated trees, wreaths and displays of holiday collections began over twenty years ago as a labor of love by the City of Greeley and the Greeley Philharmonic Guild as the prime fundraiser for the Union Colony Civic Center and the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra. It has become one of the most anticipated yuletide events not only for our community, but all of Northern Colorado.

Every year the Festival of Trees presents a forest of elaborately decorated trees, each with its own unique theme. At the end of the Festival, the coveted "People's Choice" award is presented to the business, individual or organization whose tree is voted overall favorite. No doubt thousands of people attending the festival discover the magnificent yuletide displays are only part of the fun. In addition to strolling through splendidly decorated lobbies, patrons enjoy heartwarming activities including visits with Santa, storytelling with Mrs. Claus, face-painters, children's craft projects, horse & carriage rides, gingerbread house decorating demonstrations, antique fire-truck rides, door prize drawings and joyous serenading by Christmas choirs and merry musicians. New to the festival this year is the Whoville Holiday "Seussabration" including the Whoville Hair Salon, Grinch arts & crafts, Cindy Lou Who reading The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and appearances by the Grinch and other Whoville citizens. Don't forget your camera!

As well as elaborately decorated trees, the celebration also includes special events including Guaranty Bank's Silver Bells Socials, the Teddy Bear Bash and the Snowflakes & Satin Fashion Show and Luncheon as well as a silent auction featuring seasonal items like trees, wreaths, Santas, snowmen and year round items like JEWELRY!

Mark your calendars for one of the most loved holiday traditions in northern Colorado - 23rd annual Festival of Trees, November 28 - December 5. The commitment of hundreds of dedicated volunteers, supportive businesses and talented "decorators" make the festival a spectacular celebration for everyone!
