Subject: National Night Out To Be Celebrated on August 6th in Greeley
The Greeley Police Department would like to encourage local neighborhoods to participate in National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013. The 29th Annual National Night Out is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and the Greeley Police Department.
Each year's National Night Out campaign involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states in addition to U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.
National Night Out is designed to generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. National Night Out is also important because it sends a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Neighborhoods are encouraged to celebrate with block parties. Officers from the Greeley Police Department will try to stop by as many events as possible to meet with residents. These events have proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation.
Neighborhoods or groups interested in participating should contact any of the officers from the Greeley Police Department Neighborhood Action Team at (970) 350-9605.
