2013 Free History Brown Bag Series about Greeley History

Subject:  2013 Free History Brown Bag Series about Greeley History
The Greeley Historic Preservation Commission continues the free 2013 History Brown Bag Series held on the 4th Thursday of each month from February through October, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., at the Greeley History Museum, 714 8th Street.  The next Brown Bag will be on Thursday, July 25th, at which Young Chautauquan Scholars will perform.  Amy Haining will portray Dr. Ella Mead, Hayden Hein will portray Joshua Chamberlain, and Kathryn Broderius will portray Kittie Wilkins.
This series provides citizens the chance to hear interesting historical topics, primarily focused on Greeley and Weld County, and it promotes local cultural heritage. “Discover history, architecture, great characters, culture and more at the History Brown Bag series,” encouraged Historic Preservation Commission Chair Becky Brunswig.
The History Brown Bag schedule for 2013 is as follows:
July 25:  Young Chautauqua Scholars Perform, Amy Haining, Hayden Hein and Kathryn Broderius
August 22:  Dearfield and Chapelton: The Twin African-American Communities, Dr. Bob Brunswig, Professor Emeritus, University Research Fellow, Department of Anthropology, UNC
September 26: Spanish Colony, Gabe and Jody Lopez, authors White Gold Laborers; Location change: Armory Building, 614 8th Ave.
October 24: Weld County Citizens of Note 1830-1870, Greeley Museums Staff
