Friends of the Greeley Museums

There's a place for YOU in the Friends of the Greeley Museums.
Interested in meeting new people and supporting the Greeley Museums at the same time? Then you are invited to become a member of the Friends of the Greeley Museums. New members are welcome at any time.

The Friends help enhance and preserve the special heritage of Greeley and Weld County by raising funds for Museum programming and development projects and by volunteering at the Museums.

The major fund-raiser of the Friends is Potato Day, a living history festival in September that celebrates the agricultural heritage of this region. It features demonstrators at work, musical and dance entertainment, children’s activities in the Potato Patch, a bake sale, silent auction and a baked potato with all the trimmings.

Other Friends activities are the Heritage Tea in June, sponsorship of Trick or Treat nights, and other events. Funds given to the Museums recently have helped fund restoration of the 1917 trolley and 1920 Federal truck at the Village, new exhibit cases for Rattlesnake Kate’s and Josephine Meeker’s dresses, sponsorship of Cinco de Mayo festivities, a new computer and many other projects.

Benefits of Friends membership include free admission to Centennial Village during regular hours, a discount on purchases in Selma’s Store gift shop and on Museums classes, free subscription to Museums newsletter, invitations to preview exhibits and attend potluck dinners, and more.
