Low Interest Rate Loan

The City of Greeley established a Low Interest Loan program to provide low interest funding to help offset the preservation costs associated with owning a historic property. The Loan program is administered by the Low Interest Loan Committee, a 7-member committee consisting of four Historic Preservation Commission members, the Director of Community Development, the Historic Preservation Specialist and the Finance Director. City Council recently amended the loan ordinance to make the loan program funded entirely by the City of Greeley, available to properties listed on the Greeley Historic Register and to properties listed in the State and/or National Register.

Loans for exterior preservation projects of up to $20,000 will be available to owners of Greeley Historic Register properties and to properties listed on the State or National Register of Historic Places. Eligible preservation projects include the consideration of exterior repairs, renovation, rehabilitation, and refurbishment of roofs, foundations, sidings, windows, exterior doors, gutters, concrete sidewalks/driveways, decoration site work (draining and landscaping) and exterior paint. The loan is not available for work to the interior unless the interior components directly relate to the exterior structural components. The loan repayment period is five years and the interest rate is set at ½ of the Prime Rate set by the Federal Reserve Bank.

Download a Low Interest Loan Application, available to properties listed in the National Register, State Register, and/or Greeley Historic Register, including contributing properties in historic districts. Loan Application procedures provide more detailed information about the loan program.
