Code Enforcement

Greeley Code Inspectors enforce rules related to
zoning, health & safety,
sanitation,
parking & vehicles, and
environmental concerns on private property. The enforcement process works like this:
-
Code Enforcement receives a complaint or observes a violation and issues a "notice of violation." The recipient is required to appear at an administrative hearing.
-
For first offenders, the hearing may result in a minimum fine of $100.00 per violation, plus any additional penalties assessed by the hearing officer. Subsequent violations could result in higher penalties and fines.
-
Failure to comply with a notice of violation will result in the City contracting the work and billing the owner, agent or tenant for the costs, plus a fee of $50.00 and 20% administration fees.
-
Habitual offenders could be subject to the City's new Good Neighbor Ordinance, and additional enforcement action.
