Poudre River Trailheads & Sheep Draw Trail

Below is a summary of the Poudre River trailhead and Sheep Draw Trail component of the Quality of Life Program.

SHEEP DRAW TRAIL
Estimated Cost: $1,220,000
Locations: Various
Project Begins: 2005/2006

Project Direction: The trail projects will be designed and constructed in phases. A major factor in determining the sections to be constructed relates to development in the area. In 2007, we will be working with developers to install the sections from Hunters Cove north to "C" Street and from the Triple Creek Open Space west to 71st Avenue.

Project Status: Progress on 5 sections of trail.
Section 1:
Hwy 34 Bypass east to 83rd Avenue – This section of the trail through Pebble Brook and Mountain Shadows neighborhoods have been completed.
Section 2: 83rd Avenue east to 71st Avenue – Negotiations have begun with the develop to construct the section from 71st Avenue east to the Triple Creek Open Space area.
Section 3: 71st Avenue northeast to 10th Street – This section was completed in 2006.
Section 4: 10th Street north to 4th Street – The last section of this trail was completed in 2006.
Section 5:4th Street north to “C” Street – This section through Hunters Cove was completed in 2006. Negotiations have begun with the developer to construct the section from Hunters Cove to "C" Street.
